  1. NORMALLY LET YOU (>>>> SHOWS UNDER CHANNEL NUMBER) TUNE UP OR DOWN IN FREQ. 
  2. NOW ON THESE OVER 500 MHZ FREQ YOU CAN ONLY TUNE DOWN (COUNTER CLOCKWISE). 
  3. TUNE UP (CLOCKWISE) AND DISPLAY GO TO 300.XX MHZ .  PRESS 'MR' AND THE 
  4. CORRECT MEMORY CHANNEL FREQ IS DISPLAYED AGAIN .  THE PLL ON MY UNIT WILL 
  5. NOT LOCK ABOVE 507.6 MHZ ON ANOTHER FT-530 IT WILL LOCK OVER 508.4.  PRESSING 
  6. THE PUSH TO TALK WILL DISPLAY AN ERROR ON THE DISPLAY AND IF THE PLL WILL 
  7. NOT HOLD THE FREQ DISPLAY WILL FLASH.  800-950 IS THE UPPER RANGE OF MY UNIT 
  8. AND RECEIVES FB.  ANY OTHER MODS OR KEY INPUTS PLEASE SEND TO  WA3YZL @WB3JOE.

  14. I have a comment on the FT530 mod.  Near the end of the instructions there 
  15. is a warning not to transmit out of band; maybe a comment should be added to 
  16. remind users that the FT530 can store a separate transmit frequency (not just 
  17. an offset). I did this for the items I stored in memory, that were in the 
  18. extended transmit range. This way if I ever make a mistake, I transmit on a 
  19. HAM frequency, not the public service freq I was listening to..
